Hello everyone!
Well, summer is ending, and so is this fellowship.
Starting August 14th, LSNTAP is suppending help desk untill a new coordinator appointed. LSNTAP will still do live online trainings & host the LSNTAP Email list.
Email communication was never conceived to be the center of our digital lives, hence it wasn't created with security in mind. Today it is an essential part of business communication. Everyday sensitive and confidential information traverses the Internet and other unsecured networks where it may be intercepted or read. Microsoft Office 365 service has been improved by providing multiple methods to encrypt your email, including OME (Office Message Encryption), S/MIME (Secure Multipurpose Internet Mail), IRM (Information Rights Management) and TLS (Transport Layer Security).
This intro level security class is focused specifically on remote working and protecting your client’s confidentiality and your organization's security. Since we have all moved online, hackers and scammers are targeting this new set of remote workers.
In this webinar you'll learn about:
We're hosting a virtual event to update the community on LSNTAP since Michigan Advocacy Program (MAP) took the reins this year, connect the legal aid technology community, and provide the opportunity to get feedback from the community. This event will also include presentations by Nicole Golden-Bouchard about Stateside Legal (statesidelegal.org) and by Margaret Hagan about Legal Issues Taxonomy (LIST) (https://taxonomy.legal).
Meet LaDierdre McKinney, LSNTAP’s manager. Before joining LSNTAP, she was a Staff Attorney at Michigan Legal Help Program. She was responsible for creating many of the resources hosted on the Michigan Legal Help website, including guided interviews. We're excited for her leadership and dedication to increasing access to justice through legal technology.
Mia is a 2L at New York Law School. Before joining LSNTAP, she interned with Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. While living in the Middle East, she worked for a cloud service to improve musculoskeletal health with data-driven analysis. Mia’s experience has sparked her interest in using technology to help close the access to justice gap.
LSNTAP hosted a virtual event on May 20, 2021. The goals of the event were to update the community on LSNTAP, connect the legal aid technology community, and provide the opportunity to get feedback from the community. The event also allowed participants to (virtually) network throughout the event.
