To help describe documents in the IKE Library, we have a set of tags for designating the document type (i.e. article, motion, waiver, etc.). Some Doc Types are only specific to one substantive area while others are used by all. The varied use of Doc Types by different users presented a challenge in organizing the taxonomy. In this post I talk about the taxonomy we started with and the steps taken to rework it.

The Alaska Court System is looking for an Administrative Attorney to serve as a technology attorney to provide legal expertise and project management to new initiatives and technology projects. The current projects assigned to this positions include our Online Dispute Resolution portal and Electronic Evidence Management System. Today, we are spotlighting community member Ryan Levels. Ryan is the Data and Evaluation Manager at Community Legal Aid and has lots of experience in mobile app development and software engineering. Ryan is currently pursuing a master’s degree in data science and is interested in machine learning and artificial intelligence. He is working on transitioning to legal server, data reports, and data visualizations.
Every day across the country and beyond, there are professionals working in the legal aid non-profit community whose roles cross over into the legal tech area. These roles include IT professionals, accidental techies, legal practitioners, legal aid management, and more. We want to introduce our members to people that are working in the trenches getting things done so that they feel that community spirit and know that they are not alone.
Today, we are spotlighting community member Kristofer Greig. Kris is a Law Clerk here at LSNTAP and is a rising 3L at Michigan State University College of Law. He has experience with IT and a few programming languages, as well as Linux systems. Kris is currently working on various Airtable projects for LSNTAP, as well as research into software and other technologies.In his free time, Kris collects vinyl records, cassettes, and generally any other old media. He finds analog technology interesting to look back on in an increasingly digital world.
