WriteClearly: Word Add-In Released
LSNTAP is happy to announce the release of the Word version of WriteClearly. This project is made possible through a partnership with Urban Insight with funding by the Legal Services Corporation.
WriteClearly analyzes text and uses the Flesch-Kincaid readability test to determine the reading grade level. WriteClearly was originally developed as a web application programming interface (API) by Urban Insight in partnership with Legal Assistance of Western New York, Inc. and Idaho Legal Aid Services with funding from the Legal Services Corporation (LSC). The Google Docs version of WriteClearly was originally created at a hackathon using the WriteClearly API. Currently, maintenance of all versions of WriteClearly is funded by an LSC grant managed by LSNTAP and facilitated through a partnership with Urban Insight.
The new add-in for Word is free and is available through the Microsoft App Source. Step by step directions for downloading and using the add-in are available on Tango.
