Why is this resource available?

The positive impact of legal aid organizations and pro bono work is both impressive and insufficient. Many people in the United States continue to be unable to find or afford quality legal services, particularly when faced with a civil legal issue. This is true whether they qualify for assistance by a legal aid organization or not. Justice Tech companies are seeking to fill this gap by creating scalable, affordable, accessible solutions using technology. Building relationships and partnerships between organizations who share a mission to increase access to justice - legal services organizations and justice tech companies - can help bring more legal services to more people.

The Directory below includes critical information for legal service organizations (LSO) who want to find ways to support clients that they are unable to serve. By assembling this list of companies, LSNTAP hopes to provide a resource that LSOs can use to provide options to those they are unable to serve. For those who do not qualify for legal aid due to income restrictions yet lack resources to afford private representation, the so called missing middle, this directory may provide some measure of hope as many listed companies are public benefit corporations.

Additionally, LSNTAP believes there is potential for exploring partnerships to creatively address the ever widening justice gap.
