Listserv Community Agreement
Our membership has grown and become more diverse, particularly as our work has attracted the attention of technology partners. While having a larger community benefits our work immensely, it can make communication more challenging. To support our growing and active group, we ask that the LSNTAP community abide by the following community agreement when using the LSNTAP listserv.
LSNTAP Community Agreement
Thank you for being part of LSNTAP’s listserv community. To ensure everyone has the best possible experience, we have established some guidelines. Please take a moment to read these important guidelines. To preserve a friendly environment that encourages meaningful dialogue, LSNTAP reserves the right to remove members who violate these terms. If you have any questions, contact LSNTAP’s manager.
LSNTAP’s listserv community is made up of lawyers, technologists, researchers, vendors, students, and others working to improve client services through effective and innovative use of technology. The listserv is a community-based resource for Legal Aid organizations, other justice community partners, and technology professionals to share new uses of technology, best practices, questions and answers, training opportunities and partnership opportunities. Most of all, the listserv is a hub to share technology projects undertaken by partners, their successes and failures, and ways in which their experiences might be helpful to others with similar needs.
AGREEMENT:
- We are all interested in finding more and better ways to improve client services through effective and innovative use of technology.
- We believe in equal access to justice, the use of accessible and usable technology solutions, and sharing ideas and tools to further the work of everyone in our community.
- We come to this group to give or receive ideas and to learn from each other.
- We honor diversity of opinion. Respectful disagreement and constructive criticism are welcome. Personal insults, attacks, and piling on of negative responses to a post are not.
- We welcome vendors as part of our community, but vendors should limit posts about their products to informational posts, highlighting how their product can promote the increase in access to justice through technology. Vendors may only post periodic updates about their products. This is not a forum for promoting business interests.
- We acknowledge that this group is supported through the federally funded Legal Services Corporation (LSC). LSC’s mission has significant bipartisan support in the US Congress, and list participants will refrain from partisan political comments that could jeopardize this support.
LISTSERV ETIQUETTE:
- Include a signature tag on all messages which includes name, affiliation, location, and email address.
