The folks at NTAP invite you to noodle with us and techies across the country the first Thursday of every month at 11 am Pacific / 2 pm Eastern for an hour. Consider it your virtual techie coffee break -- a way for techies to casually meet in the kitchen once a month and talk about what folks are doing. We've come up with the creative name (almost as creative as our organizational name): Techie Noodling Roundtables. And, we'd like to invite you to them.
The schedule of roundtables are:
- Thursday, February 4th: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Evaluating the Success of a VoIP System)
- Thursday, March 18th: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Open Source Content Management Systems)
- Thursday, May 6th: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Video Conferencing)
- Thursday, June 3rd : 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Cloud Computing)
- Thursday, July 1st: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Copyright and Creative Commons)
- Thursday, August 5th: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Open Source in Legal Aid)
- Thursday, September 2, 2010: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Server Virtualization 2010 with William Guyton and other LSTech Luminaries)
- Thursday, October 14, 2010: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic:Standards and Features of HTML 5)
- Thursday, December 2rd: 11 am P / 12 M / 1 C / 2 E (Topic: Using Analytics Tools to Optimize Organization Effectiveness with Don Carder and other LSTech Luminaries)
The Techie Roundtables will be 1 hour web conference calls where we invite anyone in the national poverty law techie community to participate. We envision them to be low-key discussion oriented events where folks share spiffy projects they are working on and we brainstorm their applicability beyond that local usage. More of an idea exchange kind of thing and we'll see what percolates out of it. David Bonebrake will moderate the calls for 2009.
When possible, NTAP will blog on each topic and encourage offline discussion via commenting on blog content.
