The New York Times had a nice piece today on the growing popularity of web conferencing tools. The article focuses on how the high price of travel has led many companies to put a greater emphasis on virtual meetings. Some of these meetings are conducted in high-end telepresence videoconference rooms, but others are done using applications like Citrix and WebEx.
The poverty law community is certainly not immune from the high cost of travel either. Thankfully, we have access to a very strong web conferencing tool in LegalMeetings. The Citrix product is available through NTAP at a heavily discounted nonprofit rate. Although it's not quite as impressive as the Accenture system pictured in the article, it is the one technology tool that every adopting program seems to love.
