I do most of my magazine reading via the public library so I am passing along a dated story but it looks like the information is relevant.
The December 2007 issue of Prevention magazine highlighted a study on printer emissions that reported office air quality was five times more polluted during office hours primarily due to printer emissions. You can read the original research report here: http://pubs.acs.org/cgi-bin/sample.cgi/esthag/2007/41/i17/html/es063049z.html
And a rebuttal from HP here:

And a good discussion about the issue from a ZDNet blog here: http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=5855
If anyone has addressed this air quality issue in their office please let us know. Meanwhile, for those of us with desk top printers sitting only a foot away from our computers – is there such a thing as a super long connection cord between the computer and printer?
