In the last week of March Adobe launched a beta of Adobe Photoshop Express, a free web version of its core product, Photoshop. The application isn't perfect, but it looks as if it might be a very good free option for programs that need to do some photo editing.
Rob Pegoraro's recent review in the Washington Post notes that the web application offers a cut-down, accessible version of the software with often used features such as "a quick 'auto correct,' ability to flip pictures from horizontal to vertical and back, red-eye removal and exposure and color adjustments" as well as a few more advanced and artistic effects. Pegoraro writes that this beta version of has some problems, however, including slow loading times, lack of a connection to several prominent photosharing sites, no printing capability (though Adobe says it's coming) and some problems with captions and image sorting.
If you need an image editor it may be worth checking out!
