Curious about how you might use GIS mapping in your program, or how others are using it?  NTAP has a whole series of GIS mapping trainings and forums coming up over the next six months - and they're online and free to the legal aid community.  They include:

  • GIS Showcase, June 26, 2009:  NTAP's GIS showcase will highlight ways in which some programs are using mapping, survey some of the tools available and give a brief tour of NTAP's upcoming GIS training sessions.  Register here.

  • GIS Mapping: Mapping Case Management Data, July 9, 16 and 23, 2009: A three part series providing step-by-step instructions about how to use GIS tools, including Google Earth, to map case management data in conjunction with census and other freely available data for your area.  (This series is a small workshop session and no more than 20 participants may attend.  NTAP will offer a second three-part series on three Fridays in September: September 11, 18, and 25, 2009. Pre-register for all three sessions via the Poverty Law Survey Tool.

  • GIS Roundtables: August 13 and October 8, 2009 -  Join NTAP for hour-long roundtables to discuss questions and share tips about Google Earth and mapping for your program.
