Do I Pay Extra for Phone with LegalMeetings? Citrix GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar come with a built-in phone conferencing service that uses FreeConference.Com and is integrated with the web conferencing. You do not pay any additional bridging costs to use this service. Participants and organizers will pay their own long distance charges to call in, but that is the only charge. The phone conferencing is not toll-free. Like FreeConference.Com, we've had mixed results with using it in terms of audio quality. This may be an instance where you get what you pay for. Still, it's free, except for your long distance charges and it comes with LegalMeetings.
What About Toll-Free Options or Better Quality Options? If you do not want to use the built-in phone conferencing option with LegalMeetings -- either because you need a toll-free number OR because you want a higher quality phone conference system, you have other options.
1. You can use any phone conferencing service your program may already have. When you schedule a meeting or webinar, you can easily insert the dial in numbers you want attendees to dial.
2. NTAP recommends using InterCall Audio Conferencing if you are looking for a high quality, toll-free option. Although there are other vendors who offer discounted phone conference services, we've heard from many that programs have experienced static lines and dropped calls. InterCall is a premier phone conferencing service. It is the largest reseller of audio conferencing worldwide and it won the 2007 Frost and Sullivan distinction for best audio conferencing quality. InterCall has an arrangement with NTAP on behalf of the legal aid community to provide toll-free, on-demand (reservationless) phone conferencing for 5.9 cents a minute.
